Come and rest.

Community Acupuncture, in the heart of Oak Bay.

Our Philosophy:

Effective care, made affordable, received in good company.

An old and generous idea, brought into a beautiful room: skilled acupuncture, offered at a gentle price, in the quiet company of others.

Eight chairs, one unhurried hour, $45 a session.

The case for resting together:

For most of its history, acupuncture was never a private affair. It was practiced in shared rooms — neighbours and strangers resting side by side while a practitioner moved quietly between them. Community acupuncture is simply a return to that older form, and it suits modern life remarkably well.

Here is how it works. You settle into a zero-gravity chair, fully clothed. Your practitioner takes a focused intake and places a few fine needles in points on your hands, feet, ears, and scalp — the limbs do the work, so there's no need to undress. Then you're left to rest for forty-five minutes to an hour while the treatment settles, before the needles come out and you carry on with your day.

What you trade in private one-on-one time, you gain back in the two things that matter most for staying well: it costs little enough to come often, and there is something genuinely restorative about resting in a room with others who are also at rest. The nervous system reads the quiet and lets go more easily. For many people, that hour becomes the steadiest reset in their week — better sleep, less holding, a little more ease.

If you're managing something acute or complex that calls for extended hands-on work, a private one-to-one session may serve you better, and we're glad to point you toward practitioners we trust. Community acupuncture is for ongoing rest, for steadiness, and for care that stays within reach.

"Acupuncture works the way rest works, the way exercise works — through return. Care you can afford to keep coming back to is care that actually changes things."

The Studio:

A room worth resting in.

We don't believe affordable care should mean a lesser experience. Oak Bay Community Acupuncture lives inside The Studio on Oak Bay Avenue — high ceilings, white walls, and rotating works by local artists.

It is calm, considered, and quiet on purpose. You arrive, you settle in, you rest. That is the whole idea.
